My PT gave me a new plan to follow this week. I do the strength stuff every second day, so, do the plan on Monday, then Tuesday is strictly intense cardio, etc. for the rest of the week.
Monday: Strength.
Tuesday: Can barely move and am really glad I only need to do cardio.
Wednesday: Strength.
Thursday: Not feeling anything :/
Friday: Strength.
Today: Muscles are really sore and hard to use.
So clearly, I actually did a good workout on Monday and Friday, not so much for Wednesday. I know many people would criticise this saying that it's not meant to hurt, but I disagree. If it's not hurting, it's not working. I strictly apply this to strength only. Cardio does hurt, but in a different way and generally only while you're doing it. Strength is meant to hurt the day after because it demonstrates that you've actually used the muscles you were attempting to target.
I also got the new meal plan. It's going ok. It's a bit restrictive, but I guess that has to happen until I am use to portion size and all the stuff. It also helps that my protein shake is incredibly yummy, and I've seemed to discover that I eat more when I'm cold, or bored. Eating while cold is my main problem because then I want warm carbs. Chips, bread with cheese, anything that can be heated and has lots of carbs becomes my new best friend. So the solution to that is make sure I don't get cold. Being bored... well that stems from not having anything to keep my hands busy with. I thought I was hungry before. So I drank some water, and then decided to write this post. Ala. The hunger has gone. I'll make a protein shake before I go to work and drink it but it's nice to know that I can stop eating out of bad habits when I really focus on them.
I was thinking of going to do some cardio today at the gym, but I didn't feel up to it. Sundays are definitely my day off. But today, just something wasn't right. Ah well. We all have those days. Point is to keep chugging on and not get upset by it.
I hope everyone is having a good weekend. :)
Rosalinda, xoxo.
