Ok, yea I know. I'm late. Like 16 days late for a post in the New Year!
My excuses? I have some. One is that I was at my Nan's, who has no computer. Yes I know, I should've worked on the articles, then typed them up later but I was slack and didn't do that.
However, I decided that with all the articles around about swimwear, how about talking about what to put OVER your swimmers, when you are lounging around the pool, at the beach, or in general public and you might feel like you need some coverance.
The first basic need is:
the kaftan: a basic cotton or silk shirt that has long flowing sleeves and the hemline finishes about the mid-thigh area or go longer. They are verstatile, loose, flowing and comfortable.
- If you want an extremely cheap one buy the new Cleo magazine. You get a free red/purple Roxy kaftan with it and it has a beautiful butterfly detailing in the left bottom corner.
- Another one is the Sun-Drenched Australia website. They have some wonderful different styles including this:
It comes in 3 colours, white, black and brown.
If you are after a large variety, then Swimwear Galore can help you out. They have traditional kaftans, and work they're way up to the Angel style, V-necks and whatever else you desire. Prices start at $29.99 and many colours also available.
Then there is the Maxi-Dress. Good old faithful maxi-dress. I have only recently gotten into this trend this summer and I have immediately fallen in love. My first is a lepoard print. Daring? Yes! Worth the looks? Ohhh Yea!
You can generally pick them up from Target, Big W, Best&Less, Myer, any department store and low chain stores. Mine was priced at $25.00 from Big W, but I'm sure there are cheaper ones out there.
Then there is the wonderful silk dresses, designed by Elissa Coleman. You could wear them out along beaches, but they are also reserved for daring nights out. She uses traditional Balinese techniques to create the unique prints.
Ok, hope those students who are still on holidays are having a lovely time, and those of us who are working, remember the money. I am saving, saving, saving! But doesn't stop me from buying things!
Have a great weekend everyone!
