Ostara Altar

Hi there.

This is what my altar is currently looking like.

As this altar is focusing on celebrating Ostara, the colours are reflecting spring in all her glory.

 Green for the main altar cloth to symbolise the green grass we see at the start of spring.
Purple for the secondary altar cloth as it reflects the flowers shooting up.
A large pink candle at the back in the center to show the prettiness in spring.
I have been lighting this candle every day since I prepared the altar.

Today I also added a silver candle to the left, and a gold candle to the right, to symbolise the goddess moon and god sun. Some days I’ve just had the pink candle, other days I’ve also had two white tapered candles burning. Just depends on what I feel called to each day.

You can also see that I have a little piece of white cloth at the very front of the altar. After I’ve finished lighting the candles, I like to choose a rune for my morning reading. Today’s was “Teiwaz”. It focuses on leadership, balance, logical thought and self-sacrifice. Not so much on the leadership or self-sacrifice today, but there was a bit of balance that I felt. Namely, the balance between spending time with a friend and the balance of home time. I needed a bit of both today.

Announcement of my New Card-Making Blog

I have a new blog.

I will be using this current one for exploration within my witchy ways, and the new one will be dedicated to my cards, as I am creating more, and would like to put the idea out on the web that I am making lovely cards, and hey people, you really want to buy them off me.

I feel like a change and I'm sick of putting my personal life on my blog. While I realise that exploring my spiritual path is still personal, I feel the most comfortable for it being on the internet. Things like romances, weight loss, friendships, etc, I do not feel so comfortable about. Therefore, ellesmeralover will continue to be here, focusing on my path through this wonderful magical world, and creativeenchantedcards will be primarily focused on my cards.

Rune Forecast 29.6.12

Oh hai :)

The rune that was pulled out today... is..... Ansuz.

Ansuz means God, or a reference to Odin, who was the overall powerful god out of all the Norse gods.

It's associations include, mind, voice within, inspiration, true-vision and signals.

I'm thinking something is going to arise out of those options today :)

But yesterday's rune..... there was nothing. Nothing happened yesterday that I can associate with the rune. Bit odd because they have all been right so far, but alas. Yesterday just didn't match up.

Rune Forecast 28.6.12

Why hello there.

It's freezing today in my little part of the world. Cold, rainy and slightly miserable. Hence why today I'm mostly spending it inside.

Today I pulled up Kenaz.

Kenaz means beacon, or torch. It's associations include creativity, awakening, growth, self-knowledge and vision.

Let's see what happens today then.

With yesterday's rune, I didn't really find much with my meanings. Only one, and that was concentration. I was able to concentrate for a 2 hour class without getting distracted which is a bit of an accomplishment for me. But that was about it out of the four meanings. Didn't either notice anything else or nothing else happened. Ah well. Today is a new day.

Rune Forecast

Good morning.

Today's forecast pulled out of my bag was Isa.

Isa means ice. It is also associated with non-action, psychological blocks, standstill and concentration.

Well, I shall see what happens today. Maybe some correlation will appear, maybe not. I actually have no doubt that something will appear today that relates, simply because all my other forecasts have had outcomes that relate to them. It'll just be a matter of seeing what outcome happens today.


I will also post a bit about my ritual each morning, eg, how I go about choosing my rune, what do I do before I actually pull one out. I think I might have mentioned it in passing before, but I feel a detailed one is in order, that way there is some understanding with how I do this.

Rune Forecast

Today's Rune Cast I drew Berkana.

Berkana means Birch Tree in the old language and can also mean growth, new beginnings, renewal, fertility, birth and re-birth. Today so far I've probably only seen renewal happening around me. Today was the day I met up with some friends who I haven't seen since last semester and was just catching up with them again and seeing them. That is the only thing I have been able to divine about my day.

First Rune Cast for this Blog

Good morning.

Finally, a rune cast.

Today's rune cast is Othala.

Othala is related to property/possessions, inheriting possessions, physical and spiritual journeys and ancestral homeland. It is also the letter O.

With relating it's meanings to today so far, I have obtained possessions, they are things that I've bought but are still possessions. A physical journey... I went across town. Spiritual journey... a lot of the things I obtained are for my spirit. Ancestral homeland.. I am at home visiting my family but I feel that it's not related today. 

Whew. I finally got to it. Posting up a rune casting. Makes me smile :)
